18th Century Buttons
We are continually trying to improve the quality and variety of buttons available to those involved in recreating the Colonial Period of North America. If you have any recommendations of new buttons you would like to see reproduced or suggest improvements in those we currently reproduce, we would certainly like to hear from you. Our current project is reproducing buttons found on the Savannah River near Augusta, Georgia. Near this site once stood Fort Moore which played an important part in the early Colonial Period of Georgia. These buttons range in size from 1 1/8" to 1/2" and have a very thin cross section. Our reproductions will be offered in copper and pewter as per the original patterns. Of the several books available on buttons we recommend Albert's Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons as a good reference guide.
